One extended cruise around the Australian Coast is being halted days after the fatal incident of an older woman who was left behind by the ship on a distant tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been hiking on the tropical location with shipmates from the cruise ship, but broke off from the group for a pause. The vessel departed without her and returned later that day after the ship staff discovered the passenger was missing.

A major hunt found her body the subsequent day.
